A new twist if you are selling information

Here is a new twist to selling information: instant gratification.

If you sell information online, consider this concept.

You send two ASCII files to prospective clients. One of the files has a sample chapter or section from the information you are selling. The second file is locked out by a password. If the prospective client likes your sample, you instruct them that for $XX.XX he can receive the full information within a matter of minutes because the other file he has contains all this information. All he has to do is call your 1-800# and give his credit card number and he will receive a password to unlock the second file.

The key to this is that he has instant access to the information you are providing (if you don't want to bother with this effort, I have a course that will supply you with people who will do this for a very small charge).

I can show you how to do this without buying any software, completely free of charge. How well does this method work? In a recent test, I sent two chapters for my book Car Secrets Revealed to a series of BBSs, newsgroups, AOL and Compuserve Forums. In a six week period 47,162 people downloaded it to their computer and read it. The potential here is absolutely incredible.

Now, if you really want to get fancy about it (like I did), you can have full "point and click" software. You give away the software in a self executable ZIP file. When the file is decompresses, it makes two EXE files (IBM example). One file is run-able; one file is locked out with a password. The file that is accessible lets them run the software (your information product) and access two chapters or section of the info. From those two chapters there is a little icon that says "Personal Note from Author... read this after you have read the chapter". This "note" is just a salesletter explaining what there is to offer in the publication and how to call the 800#, pay the $XX.XX and the operator will give them a password to unlock the remaining chapters. Basically, they have access to the information within 5 minutes .

If you want to see exactly how I did this (it is very inexpensive to do). Click here to download the 1.2 Meg file that is my Electronic Car Secrets Book (it takes about 10 minutes to download depending on your modem speed).
